my "witness" of jesus christ the glory of the sun of righteousness came when i was 27 after i was weeping with tears, in the back of my van parked in My fathers' driveway. it came after 6 months of poison and sleep deprivation and the loss of my job working at nintendo. I realize today my witness was not equal to joseph smiths testimony and that there has to be a greater vision/visitation than that! i know i have had paralel experiences.
but i also know faith came to me early on when i was about 15 or 16 when i first began to be "born-again".

at face value this verse looks the same! but is it a "right" to sit on the throne of God, or is it a "grant".

i can accept that that means his appearance never changes and also his works and judgments.
but the bible says that Jesus appeared in a different form to two disciples.
the tv series Joan of arcadia implies that jesus can appear in any bodily form and does, i think because of this same verse.
however Paul also writes that jesus does not appear as a man traveling on the road which contradicts the 2 disciples testimony that it was jesus!

on the other hand there is a demon LORD Similitude in the tv series Buffy the vampire slayer which does change appearance and form to confuse and deceive all people.
Ed Dames as a remote veiwer says that holographic imagery can produce similitudes that have mass and visual experiences! he spoke of bigfoot in this example.
if jesus appeared in his resurrected body, I would Tell the world that his body does not change, that it would be the same body he was resurrected with.

My boyfriend was an Elder in the LDS religion. He went on his mission and didn't leave the church until he was 22. Joseph Smith read "golden plates" out of a HAT. The people are FAKE and so is everything Joseph Smith said. Not to mention all the other garbage they fed him.

I'm a former member of the church if that helps you at all, not quite what your looking for I know.

For one thing, look into the papyrus J Smith claimed to translate. They rediscovered it in the 60's, finished translating it in the 80's. It was just an Egyptian book of the dead, very common to be buried in egypt where the scrolls came from. Sort of proves Smith wasn't right.

Also the testimony of the man who found the plates. Smith claimed he got a certificate of authenticity but the man wrote on it later saying he gave no such thing to Smith, who's plates looked like nonsense from what you could tell.

The book of mormon includes a huge copy from revelations. But there's a mistranslation in the book of mormon version that exactly the same as one found in the King james version avaible at the time Smith existed. If the book of mormon was protected from the apacrasy it would not have had the same mistranslation as one specific version of the bible, the one the mormons/protestants use.

because they want to. you look hard enough you can make anything have the end result you want. my mother is a perfect example of this! no matter what is done or said somehow she finds a way to make someone elses fault. you can do that with any religion. you want to disprove something- there is always something out there that you can try and use to your advantage. lawyers do it all the time- they make something out of nothing to help their client regardless if it's the full truth or not!

1. There isn't one bona fide witness who saw the golden plates.

2. He claims on occasion to have had to run carrying the plates, which from his description, had to have weighed well over 200 if not 300 pounds, gold is really heavy.

3. The resulting Book of Mormon sounds like it King James English. People in up state New York did not talk that way in the 1820s.

4. There are some chapters in the Book of Mormon which are word for word identical with some chapters in the King James Bible.

5. No language expert has ever heard of "reformed Egyptian".

6. No city, no feature of the land, has ever been found to verify what's written in the Book of Mormon.

His whole story just does not hold water.

The whole concept of being okay with Polygamy and then not being okay with it totally contradicts the validity of Joseph smith's testimony.

They also said that black people were "cursed" hence why you'll never find a black Mormon.

They also force you to tithe and last time I checked, giving was something that you do voluntarily.

It will blow your mind when you consider how anyone could possibly stay Mormon and not bother to read up on what they are actually supposed to be believing. I think people are just drawn to the warm family centered atmosphere but then don't ask the important questions like:

Who am I? (A child of God)
Where am I headed? (To hell)
Why am I headed there? (because man sinned)
How do I stop it? (Jesus already stopped it, you just need repent which means to say your sorry and mean it and try to stop sinning.)

You might say: "But Mormons believe in Jesus don't they?" And the Answer is "no." They believe in a different Jesus. The Mormons say Jesus was "just a prophet" and "a" son of God and we are all sons of God but that's just not true. God created us and he has a "one and only son".

Many parts of the bible verify that Jesus was the son of God and not "just a prophet"
John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life"

And that's plain as day. It can't be misinterpreted.

If you're reading this, You need to know God loves you and has a plan for your life. You just need to let him show you by asking for forgiveness. Have you lied? Stolen? maybe even murdered?
It doesn't matter how many times, God is a holy God and sin cannot be in his presence. That is why God sent his son, to pay for your sin so that he could have a relationship with you once again.

Joseph Smith has some real problems with credibility. LDS folks must follow him loosely to some degree because of some of his behaviors. The fact that he sent off young married men to New York as missionaries and then apparently committed fornication with their wives is one example.

so many statements and questions about false christs. the term antichrist is not without use in the letters of the bible.
i have looked into this in some detail. the only messiah that was resurrected was jesus.
and there were contenders ! there is no denying it.

there are two points to consider: first the disciples of jesus were about to go and rebuke a few people and jesus denied them from doing it.
second. one must also look into the "ends" of the lives of the "other" christs and OTHER historical virgins bearing children as well.
the one thing you cant say about satan, is HE does not lack for imagination and in creating false beliefs and false religions instead of the true authority of priesthood in the earth, and there is lack of followers for these same things.

the book of revelation describes the church of satan as the opposite of a bride and ONE of the major weapons of deceit is the use of Sorcery to deceive the world, that "THEY" have the power of God.

craft of healing or witchcraft plain and simple

to be honest im not active in any church.
i came to the point that it was more evil to go to church than NOT to.
i was sleep deprived for almost 15 years and complaining of being poisoned on a daily basis where i was not allowed to sleep for 2 or 3 days at a time and then it came to a point where i would only sleep ten minutes a day or one day a month.

there is alot of abuse in yahooQA, there are those that actually make a game out of getting the most violations and insulting others, from perspective it is mostly mockers of religion and atheist that do this.
most christians get fed up with slanderous answers from atheists and satanists. so they just excercise their right to have a little peace of mind while asking and answering truly religion questions.
i personally have gone round and round with Yahoo ToS and customer service for getting proper religious questions deleted.
I asked a purely correct question and got a violation. it was removed to this day. i appealed, and it was still rejected. while at the same time i see literally tens and hundreds of question that are exactly the same type and manner and they dont get violated.
it pisses me off (excuse my slang)
when i first started Yahoo actually deleted my entire account, i had 7 years worth of files on other accounts and in yahoo groups and archived in email. i lost them all!

why does God not answer some prayers

this dilemma is not unknown

as for my own prayers since the day i became born again believer i have had prayers to almost all of my prayers.
the best answer was seeing an angel appear in my room at the beginning the greatest answer to prayer was seeing the glory of the lord Jesus.

but the most instantaneous example was asking how to pray, then standing up and hearing the "still small voice" say: turn on the tv, (or something like that) i walked across the room, turned on the tv and the minister on tv was talking about the lords prayer in LUKE ch. 11 in answering the same question of the disciples of christ.

there might not be any need for you to be given ANY answers
you might have to show daily diligence in prayiing, knocking, seeking, and asking.

you might be trying to lie the Holy Ghost but that is usually reserved for those that call themselves atheists.

prayer can be a soul searching experience, and is always not lip service.

# there might also be something that happened in the pre existence of your life. i am not sure of this answer, but lets suppose you made an agreement not to get your prayers answered as a type of a challenge to your faith which is already good enough. or the same thing can be said that you chose not to have prayers answered so you can have a normal life!
believe me having prayers answered is not easy, thousands of atheist will put you in a straightjacket seeing that i am experienced with the ridicule of mass mockery from unbelievers. So not getting a prayer answered miraculously can save you from persecution as well as having some peace of mind.
there is another possible reason too.
some people are given gifts, and some people are born that have to rely on the gifts of others in order to have their own gifts mean something. spiritual gifts are given for the edification of the members of the church. maybe you dont need to have a gift for the church, maybe your personal gift is only for a few and thats all you have to worry about ?

ok, ive always believed that Adam resisted temptation. and it was eve alone that went to adam and he partook because he didnt want to lose his wife. but genesis clearly says adam was present with eve at the tree. but it says adam was not deceived. clearly the D&C verse declares adama a transgressor, but the bible says only eve was in the transgression. at least thats whats implied. was adam at the tree when eve ate the first bite, was he away at the time and eve called adam to her side to take of the forbidden fruit.

the book of mormon states that adam and eve wouldve remained in a state of innocence.
however it is my opinion that because Adam is called a son of God the knowledge of righteousness wouldve (possibly) increased. Adam was created to live for eternity, i cant see Adam being in a state of innocence forever, even learning to become a God.
however, because of the fall, and His redemption of christ, he has become a god in his own kingdom, at least according to the LDS church.

on the one hand it is a 19th century belief that believers will be taken out of the earth before the great tribulation starts.
on the other hand it is a perversion of the doctrines of the resurrection.

there are many verses which christians have compiled which they conclude the rapture means people will disappear one day and that the earth will enter a 7 year period of tribulation,

the rapture might be a series of beliefs erroneously added together to build a hypothetical belief that one day God will destroy the earth and all the people in it except the true believers, he will change them in a twinkling of an eye and they will be spared.

i say erroneously ! because there might not be a thousand people who are like that Enoch and Elijah and mohammed. They are the first 3 known people in the scriptures to have ascended without being resurrected.
However, people dont know about the Saints being resurrected with Christ and are called the first fruitfruits. they are the first resurrection. The bodies of those saints were joined with their spirits and Alive again they came into the holy city and around the world.

what are the causes of mental illness besides religion

after a while i began to understand that men who were inspired by God wrote the things they believed were true according to traditions and history as well as according to the miracles and words of God. but the power of translation still came from God according to joseph smith testimony. but what was preserved was also the contentions of doctrines and the proof that people who called thmselves righteous were NOT righteous in deed. so the book of mormon preserves some things that are not true. as well as a Majority of everything else truth. let God reproove me or let him prove this is true.
