LDS. Can we safely assume Mormons today disagree with the extreme racism claims of Brigham Young?

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable, sad, low in their habits, wild, and seemingly without the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind.

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God, is death on the spot.

"This will always be so."

Brigham Young 2nd Prophet and President.

I answer this question:
i for one do not hate black people, so the one assumption made by one answer is completely false

the answer might be Yes but there are still some people involved in the old 1950's purity of race values.

my personal studies in church history have proven some remarkable discoveries. http://cid-fff19b48ee821aa4.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/recentpublicfolder/MarkofCainSkinofdarkness.txt

that the mark of cain, and the curse of black skinned is connected to the separation of RACE and marriage and religious beliefs and commandments of God, to Cain and secret combinations and devil worship.

as for the saying of briham young. I have read that. but as for the revelation of the first presidency which allows black men to receive the priesthood has been modified which overturns brigham youngs PERSONAL opinion.
one must also realize that Moses married an ethiopian and one of the books in the new testament asked the question can a leopard change its spots? refering to the ethiopian.
joseph smith clearly taught his own opinion that separation of race is mandatory.
the real church doctrine has it basis in fidelity to scripture and the commandments of God, but false interpretations have always skewwed true translation throughout all history.

the children of Cain were cursed by God to be servants of servants, through the words of NOAH. Did God speak those words or did NOAH. being a servant of servant? if it was the curse of God? is a bibilcal text. and verse.
does this mean in this life or the next?
the sin was making a covenant with satan and forsaking the covenant of righteousness, anyone who was found mixing race with the sons of cain were cursed by god. ultimately after the flood sodom and gomorah were destroyed, so the death sentence is given to men that make covenants with satan.
but Jesus proclaimed repentance and faith. and Peace. NOT every black worships satan. NOT every white man worships God!
