women in the priest are like active Gay men calling themselves ordained

hanging in there asked this:

LDS. Besides being born male, what do priests do differently than females to "earn" priesthood titles?
Having another priest do "laying on of the hands" is what the other priest does, not person receiving the priesthood. I am researching the mormon religion and different view points help alot. So, If this question is interesting enough to share with a star, please do.

{BigSigh} Yep!! I did it again..thanks Gumby. And to make matters even worse, had I stopped to think about it, I ALREADY knew the priests were called. Thanks for your patience and DOUBLE thanks for knowing me and responding anways!!
OK, lets change word " earn" to "qualify for". I think that works a little better. Tonya's answer is awesome and besides applying a little mind reading, it seems to logically make sense. It also is very close to my own understanding up to this point, but my understanding got rattled when I learned that newly baptised, adult, male members were ordained as priests almost IMMEDIATLY.That kind of kicks my assumption and her explanation to the curb and is part of reason I have asked this question. As a non member looking at this, it seems that the only true requirement for becoming a priest is gender, and that dosent seem right. There has to be more to it. Example:Twelve year old twins, one female, one male, both BORN Mormon. He is priest, she is not, whats difference

I saw this answer:
from amnesty sucks:we don't "earn priesthood titles."

life-long LDS

i reply: yes LDS women do earn priesthood titles,

They share the priesthood through the New and everlasting covenant in the marriage to their husband

but generally, lds women are not ordained to priesthood offices they are by creation called to Motherhood and to care for their families. thats the way it has been since adam and eve.

personally if a there is an ordained woman or gay priest opening a benediction in public I will refuse to pray with THEM in public. if a sister in church prays, i will join them.
One day that might change but for now it is church doctrine and it is bibilical in one sense

Then i edited it: yes LDS women are not given priesthood titles,, some have callings to teach, otheres are visiting teachers and go to homes of members and others are sent on missions to teach. Priesthood authority is given through the man, and must remain that WAY till the end of time or until God changes it in the next life.
