Doma, what an interesting name! the only Doma i have ever known lived in anchorage alaska and worked for Charlettes Web.
however interesting the quote is, and it is interesting! the word of God, here, in hebrew, may not be the written word that is magnified.
and knowing that truth is not limited to the words contained in the bible, nor is Gods' word bound by man, it must be the spoken word: Rama, that is magnifed above his name. !!
but at this point it is conjecture based on scripture study that i know.
also, i have often taught that anyone who claims authority from the bible is either truly guilty of idolatry or very near unto IT. for authority is not given to man, except, or like it says in the new testament itself, a man cannot take this honor unto himself but must by given like Aaron received it from Moses. by the will of God and the laying on of hands.
thats what i wanted to say to Doma!
this is what i sent:
how can i say anything you can receive of my words and understanding!??? sigh.
I am a witness of jesus christ, i am ordained both priest and elder, ive had at least 3 visions of jesus and 1 of them is a visitation that was out of body and another vision of an Angel, that appeared in my room. I often asked myself whether what i saw was the HOLY Ghost or not? at the time I thought it was jesus himself. So, this is where i come come from as a disciple of the bible and the gospel! i was alway truly intent on studying the scriptures and proving all things.
but 2 things come to mind when i read this message about the word of God being magnified.
1: is the word of God spoken of here the written word or the spoken word?
2: is giving the scriptures in the written form an exaltation Universal authority above all truth an exageration! or is it near unto idolatry? to do so in my experience would replace the holy Ghost and make the written word more important than the comforter who reveals and leads into all truth?
it might be that the author was giving glory and honor to the writen word but the author overlooked a very important fact if this is true! that Jewish prophets were often killed and their words of God were often outlawed, which wouldve been scripture if they had existed to the days of constantine!
this is what Doma wrote to me!
From: Doma
Subject: Bible
Message: Well its not the end of all truth since Paul said this:
1 Cor 13:12: For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
But the Bible is the Highest authority in all the universe, it even has more authority than God's name:
Psalms 138:2:
"...for thou has magnified thy word above all thy name."
you wrote:
But the Bible is the Highest authority in all the universe, it even has more authority than God's name:
is that written somewhere! "highest authority in all the universe" or is that Doma 1:1 or is it taught in bible believing churches, anywhere.
i am very concerned over that statement in quotes. there are many reasons. one of which i emailed you previously.
think about this! if there is life in all of the 70 sextillian stars in the known universe, if God has people on any ONE planet out there! then the scriptures would be written by entirely different prophets probably in different languages and most probably without a doubt in different words.
Entire worlds, could therefore be conceived of and destroyed before the bible was ever formed in 300 ad when constantine made it. or had it made.
think about this and pray, ponder. The bible does not have authority, the prophets who were given authority wrote it but there are more prophets that ever lived that are not canonized.
