False theology and doctrines of men dominate the christian world. Rumors and gossip and superstition dominate the traditions of mankind.

Every time a prophet is raised up by god, the church, wherever it is located, geographically, strays from the prophet and the teachings of God. They adopt the above and begin to change the words of God into the works of satan. Satan like wolves in sheeps clothing take over, and the church becomes like the angels warns of in REv 18:4.
the people of God begin and do follow satan rather than God.
So when God raised up this church, the understanding of the gospel had changed from the first gospel to something that is not of God. therefore people follow the wrong compass and because their direction is wrong their interpretation is wrong.

So it was with the leaders of Israel in the generation of Jesus. the sandhedrin, the pharisees and the saducees all had incorrect gospel doctrine, even though they had prophetts. it is possible their leaders were completely Possesed by devils incarnate and thus intentionally led astray.

elaine replied:It's because people don't fully understand your religion. For the most part, it's ignorance.

I don't know you, so I don't mean this directly toward you, but in my PERSONAL experience, it seems that of the few Mormons I know, the MAJORITY of them tend to preach, and judge against people that drink or smoke. There's one person in particular that always makes snide remarks about everyone and everything, except this person also drinks sodas and caffeine. How can you judge, when you're also not following what your religion's "rules" are? Like I said, this isn't directed towards you, since I don't know you, I just hope you're not like that. I've met some really cool Mormons.

I think that everyone should have respect for their beliefs and opinions, however, that also means having respect for others.

rona replied: Because most are misinformed.

I am a Christian and believe that mormons (aside from the splinter cells that advocate polygamy) are good, decent people and are not a "cult". Their bible has a few extra chapters than mine, but its basically the same principles.

Unfortunately most peoples education of Mormon religion/community comes from the 6 o'clock news when the latest ranch is raided.

kitser kosh replied:It's not necessarily just Mormons. People are rude to all kinds of people for all kinds of judgemental reasons. I think people like to point out and judge other people's differences because THEY have a personal problem related to insecurities. Anyone who is trying to tear down someone else's beliefs isn't being very Christian. For some reason people like to bash others beliefs because they think it makes the religion they are a part of better or something.
Read Joseph Smith History 1:9 and 19. That always puts people who behave like that into perspective for me.

mangtomasito replied:When I think Mormon, I think white shirt, black tie and little black plastic name tags - too corporate for me ( I expect little stars to appear on the badges, McD style).
On the street I find that they (you) choose to engage me, the same as market researchers, at the most inopportune times.

Why not rent small stalls on short term basis at malls, etc and make a really attractive display that will encourage passers by to approach you and perhaps ask questions?

yoyomamma replied: I blame you for the Osmonds. Especially that annoying, chubby little dwarf Jimmy who makes me want to nuke Branson, MO every time I see him on TV.

But seriously, I've only ever had one Mormon "friend" and when he finally was perfectly clear that I was never going to be a Mormon i was no longer invited to his home and I never heard from him again. I've worked with other Mormons, but I can't say that I've known any to have non-Mormon friends. Could just be my isolated experience, but if it's not, then I would say that people are suspicicious of what they don't know. Folks that make an effort to keep seperate based on their religious beliefs are going to be suspect. Jews have dealt with this and so will you I suppose. And of course the FLDS is making the name "Mormon" real respectable right now.

nikosp replied:Hate is a strong emotion; I'd say they're rather being disliked. Mainly because of their isolationism and their inclination to stick out of the mass (f.ex. their antiquated appearance and ways).

In Europe they're being disliked (mainly by the church authorities and other religious freaks) because they try to convert people in the ex-communist block countries.

imtheonlycathy replied: Your victim mentality is showing.

People don't hate mormons. People hate lies and liars, though.

People really DON'T hate mormons. They just don't trust a religion quite possibly based on deception created by convicted con artists, that's all.

And if someone tries to show you that something is a lie, for your own good, do YOU hate them for doing it? Do you call them names or insult them personally because they try to tell you the truth? That kind of behavior can be seen every day on Y!A (and it's not limited to mormons, b/c Christians and cultists of all kinds do the same thing). It says a lot about a person - esp. if you readily take offense, when none is intended.

Christians, though, shouldn't expect everything to be peachy. Jesus said:
"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it."

He also said the Truth would set you free. My advice is to always seek the truth, no matter what the consequences.

suebeeroo replied:I think a lot Mormons are misunderstood because the only press you guys get are due to polygamists and splinter groups.

That said...

(Forgive my ignorance PLEASE ...) But my understanding is that the Mormon faith was started by a self-declared prophet? I think for most folks who consider themselves Christians, after the time of Jesus the days of prophets were over. That might lend itself to the perception that Mormonism is a little bit "cult-ish".

~!what!~ replied:Did you say that Jesus was Satan brothers? That is not true! Once again it is amazing the way people interpret the bible mainly to prove their own points, politics and religion. True blasphemy.
People only hate what the do not understand. The media is not helping your cause; yet , I don't know if the fanatic Mormons are helping either if the allegations are true. Multiple wives is one thing but 40 plus year old men bearing children with females under the age 18, 16, 14? The women are looking the other way. does that sound moral to you?

LindaK replied: People hate that which they don't understand.....
Ignorance is bliss...............
Although I don't think they hate us - they just allow their own narrow vantage point to prevent them from seeing a fuller picture of what LDS faith is truly about and they accept & buy into the lies & half truths that have been passed on for 150 years by mormon persecuters and other pastors & leaders of other faiths who fear what they do not fully understand - instead of coming to an opinion and true knowledge with their own brains & abilities themselves. THOSE who know us - love & accept & appreciate us and recognize the lies and propoganda that many people cling to with unwavering stupidity.

You have to realize too that if people accept what we believe - that would mean they would have to abandon the long held to doctrines and traditions that have been past on for generations and generations and THAT is far too difficult for most humans to feel capable of doing. We all CLING to our faith so tightly - it often stops us from seeing something even bigger and better that might be right in front of our eyes.

beachlady replied: umm I dont hate you.... I do hate the leaders past and present that keeping pulling the WOOL over the young and very vunerable mormons and recent converts...
IT IS really obvious! Thats what happened to me..but they sugar coat everything!

Have you been through the temple? I had a problem with it. When I stood back and relized what the he-- I as really doing...

Plus the FLDS and LDS religion stemed straight form the TEACHINGS of Joseph Smith!!
LDS is just saving polygamy until after death! Thats the truth...look it up!

D R Cocksauce replied: they dont hate mormans
they hate the radicals that broke away from the church and still belive in poligamy and force sex on minors at there houses in texas.
its just sometime the real mormans cach crap from the ignorant..and it also dident help theat the media still called them morman any way.. what a sham

qman31500 replied: I don't hate Mormons. I have many in my family.

The LDS Jesus must always stay distinct from the Biblical Christian version. They are very different. One was created by Elohim, the other has always been God and was made man in Jesus. We can disagree, but le'ts not confuse the issue.

The LDS believe that through obedience to laws and ordinances, they are saved. Works cause God to give you a reward in heaven. Biblical Christians claim that responding to God through faith is all that's required, our works being the result of God's work in us, not the cause. Again, we can agree to disagree, but in no way should these ever be confused.

There is considerable evidence against the truth claims of Mormons which make people like me wonder why you'd trust Joseph Smith, but you choose to. Okay. You believe that you belong to the only true and living church on the face of the earth. I believe that no church can make this claim. The power is in Jesus, not a church. Again, we disagree. Or when Mormons declare all creeds and religious teachers to be an abonimation, I don't agree, but your scriptures teach that. So this isn't a light issue, but nothing to hate each other over.

Christians don't think they can grow up to Gods, your church teaches that you can. Good luck with that. The LDS view of celestial marriage remains polygamous marriage even in today's D&C, so glad you don't have lots of wives, but it's still part of your history and teachings.

BTW, glad to hear you're a punk rocker. Do you realize you'd be playing in church if you were an evangelical Christian? Dude, wouldn't it be cool to lay down some tube screamer rock while praising Jesus?

precious replied: I don't hate mormons, I just think they follow a bunch of religious CRAP. They know a religion, not Jesus or who God really is. If they DID, than they'd be "allowed" to do things like drink or smoke because to God it doesn't matter what we do or not do, it's all about Him and who He is.

aralyn replied: Because you're different, and because people don't know about it. People are cruel, and when they don't understand something, they put it down and make up reasons to justify their feelings.

It's wrong, but at least you have strong faith and a happy life. You're at least one step ahead of them! :-)

P.S. I don't hate Mormons. ;-)

moraise fate replied: Could it be that they have weird ideas and harass us in our homes? Yeah, I think thats it.

Btw... don't tell me that Mormons don't have weird ideas, I've known far too many Mormons.

And the next time one of you people follows me down the street preaching, I'm macing you in the face. Three times in two years and the only thing that got them to leave me alone was threatening to call the cops.

tireboy11 replied:
I don't hate Mormons! I don't hate anyone. I am a christian, I don't smoke or drink and I have only one wife! If you are classing or judging, maybe you have your answer!

pixie star replied: dont listen to people, dont let them judge you, be confident with who you are...

plus no one could ever want more than one wife, at least no sane person, one woman is a hanful, imagine that multiplied by a milion...*shudders*

got air bugged replied:I don't hate you. In fact, hate is not an attribute of being a Christian so I tend to ignore those who show hatred toward me and suggest you consider doing the same.

phrog replied: don't take it personal. most people don't like people who are different from them. anything else (ie: 'different Jesus, etc claims) are just excuses to justify the original dislike of someone different.

ryan replied: Because some people can not respect the views and beliefs of others. These same people who show no respect for others, often get offended when they believe that others have disrespected their views and beliefs oddly enough.

joshue: Where did you get such stereotype everyone should respect you for who you are not by what you do but even if there is such people then pray for them or what ever is that you do ( and no am not making fun of no one)

Capt kraken hunter: I don't know anyone by the name of Mormon, well except that guy that condensed the Book of Mormon. Are you a Mormon?

They don't realise that their doctrines save us too.

tamrn02: Because they generally push their religion on others. Your right though I think most people are misinformed when it comes to Mormons and relate you to the radicals out there.

Unicool:I don't mind what religion other people choose to follow, but i know there certainly wasn't a Jewish civilization in America 2000 years ago

ohbaby10:Unfortunately there will always be people who hate others just for being different than they are.

angel:because they come to your door and try and push their religion on you.
it incredibly rude to bug people at home and try and convert them to their religion.

kerry: Everyone loves to hate a winner!

falism: the doctrine is some of the greatest stuff i have ever seen. I love understanding the gospel.

michaelw: Mormons are one of the few groups it is PC to bash. Probably because it is 99% white.

truthseeker:Nobody hates Mormons. I am trying to help show Mormons where their faith is misplaced.

donna b:why ask why

mandylou:I am not a Mormon,but I don't hate them either,

heavenElizabeth:Why do people hate?
Hate is such a strong word...

philanthropist4life: because if you take out the second m it spells MORONS.

answer: SLC Punk

Have you seen that movie?

A lot of people take the poetry and prophecy from 1000's of years ago very literally. Some folks believe that the bible was written by god himself. Those people find it hard to believe that a "real" prophet could have existed in Babylon, I mean, America.

REFeRENCE: people ignore shepherds. Groups, Families and individuals like Power. If everyone united then less sects like the mormans would have the power that they have over abused, stupid, and weak people. People like to hate each other, make fun of each other, and have gang fights. Even the weak and stupid people like to spectate this stuff, so it works out perfectly.

Yeah, and a lot of people went out west to escape the church which was so conservative and dominate in the east. I belive that the mormans kind of went out west to make a church that was more conservative, and more dominate.
You know what I mean?

I'm not from that area, but I was there last week, and I saw tons of homeless people; mormans are housing better than San Francisco does, but they are mormanizing them pretty heavily. I actually went to school with some mormans in a different area of the country where they were an extreem minority. They were not allowed to watch secular television, movies, music ect.. ect... Also they had to go on a mission before they could go to college. I dont think anybody hated them at my school near as much as everyone hated me. I cant realy see that anyone hated them at all.

I can say, that the mormans on missions look realy silly, and probably anoy people, by knocking on doors and asking them to chalange their own belifs. This may be some of the explanation for hate.

I think some chicks feel harassed and like the group of guys at their door wants to marry them off to one of the dudes, and breed them. This might make some 20th or 21st century american women kind of mad.

I remember a young group of rave kids I encountered in Colorado 10 or 15 years ago, who were wild, and were from SLC, but had come to Colorado to escape the conservative nature (opression) of SLC.

All in all, It is not the mormans, or the zionists with multiple wives, or the liberal agnostics that people hate. It is god, and or humanity itself which the people hate so much, and it is because they desire to dominate, and control.

hope that answers some questions for you.

I reply: i think i received this best answer award because of bias, but i will take it, :) anyway, i hope i can kindle a freindship with jona. to answer his question! i was devout LDS most of my adult life, so far. I have a testimony which i think rivals some prophets, but i am inactive because of a certain thing i cannot come to terms with. being poisoned by members of the church. I dont know if it is the power of God to cast poison/meds into the air. for 10 to 13 years i suffered sleep derpivation because of some of the poisons in the church and out of it. plus 6 months. but i believe purely most everything in the lds canon.

there is a reason for people which is righteous, to leave a church. i once asked: is it more righteous to NOT go to church Ever?
