Jesus Suffered because he preached against Sin? but what suffering caused him the most pain?
Mosiah I needed this quotation only a couple of days ago. I like to inhabit the Q&A service in the religion section under the society and cultural sub category.
Someone actually posted and said it was a false morkmon doctrine that jesus suffered for our sins in the garden. however mell gibsons 12 min movie scenario of the whipping was enough to show me He might have suffered there too, and then on the cross. but I agree with mormon doctrine, and wouldve responded that the cross was actually a picnic compared to the other two tortures.

Karthi s replied: as per me he never suffered.he was untouched
Dink replied: Having to deal with brain-dead, brain-washed people in religions.
That is what caused the most suffering for Jesus.
but......................
Here's the Solution:
"religion is Spiritual fraud"; "religion is the Worse invention of humanity" - Jesus Christ
Create a private, personal, direct, divine relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truely Free!
Without God, there is No Love; Without religion, there are No Wars!
Primoa replied:Don't forget....when He was praying on the night of His arrest....He also sweat blood.
So yes....He suffererd for about an18 hour stretch.
tribble macher replied:Jerusalem o Jerusalem
K 19:41 As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it 42 and said, "If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace--but now it is hidden from your eyes. 43 The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you and encircle you and hem you in on every side. 44 They will dash you to the ground, you and the children within your walls. They will not leave one stone on another, because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you."
Cmw replied:That's one picnic I would not want to be subjected to. The suffering that causes Him the most pain is man's pride and refusal to resist sin and love Him.
Schneb replied: You do not understand how crucifixtion works. It was the worst torture ever devised because it slowly suffocates you by collapsing your lung. The only way to breath was to push against the nails in your feet. This usually went on for days.
The Mormons are dead wrong. Especially here..
I reply to schneb: what irks me personally is when people assume to speak to what i understand and dont understand.
gwiz105 replied: The most pain Jesus suffers is all the hardened hearts against Him.
i reply, i dont think so.

BEING HEARTBROKEN BECAUSE HIS CREATION DONT LOVE HIM LIKE HE LOVES US HE WAS WILLING TO DIE FOR US IN HOPES WE WOULD LOVE HIM AND WALK WITH HIM IN THE COOL OF THE DaY
THAT WOULD CAUSE THE MOST PAIN TO ME MAN FOR MY SON TO SAY THAT HE HATES ME AND THAT I DONT EXIST HOW ABOUT YOU!!!!
i reply: yes it is enough to have that kind of mental anguish but a broken bone or bleeding at the pores, that is pain receptive. Nails driven into the wrists and feet. and if jesus was not dead when the roman drove a spear into his heart that would be painful too. but the way the blood came out signifies he was dead.
layity1 replied: The entirety of the passion of our Lord shows every form of human suffering: mental and emotional (the garden), physical (scourging, crowning, crucifixion), humiliation (mocking by the guards, pilate releases Barabas), abandonment (Peter's denials, only John and the women at the cross). Among us, we can find individuals that could handle one torture more than the other. Think of yourself: what would be worst for you? Then, realize that Christ suffered all of these for all of us.
i reply i think i like this best answer so far, but the question was which caused the most pain and suffering.
Mr Ed replied:His suffereing was not because he preached against sin. He suffered for our sins. His greatest torment was the spiritual torment of taking our sins on Himself, suffering death in all its meanings, since He is life and holiness. We wouldn't understand that kind of suffering.
i reply: there is indeed a different level of pain described here.
dad4 replied: It was His shed blood on the cross that atoned for our sins but it was in the Garden where He felt the most disgust at having to take on sin in His sinless body. When He said "Father take this cup from me,not as I will but your will be done".
He wasn't afraid of the pain or to die but was horrified at the thought of the most terrible sins put on Him.
I reply: another good answer, and still better than the one chosen by voters. it seems that by conspiracy men will choose as a whole to choose the wrong thing, so as it is written it definitely isnt always true that mankind will choose the best or the good. Especially seeing in the beginning most of the sons and daughters of adam chose to follow and love satan MORE.
hvnhelpu replied:What caused Jesus the most pain was the separation from God He felt when He finally bore all our sins on the cross and received their due penalty: for the first time in His existence He had a severed relationship with His Father. It literally broke His heart: "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?!" He felt the full emotional impact of what sin does so that we don't have to.
someone replied: Please don't base your opinion on what Mel Gibson says or directs, actually pick up a Bible and read it. For starters, Jesus suffered alot more than 2 times, his own people turned against him...I think that would be the worst punishment. Jesus did all this knowing full well what the outcome was going to be and he was tempted...he could have saved himself instead he chose our salvation and as a thank you to that, we through it away every day of our lives. Instead we spend our time arguing and debating petty little things.
THE BIBLE DUH!!!!
i reply: another interesting answer, there are many things that people suffer in this world. but i think the question is specific to what caused the most suffering and pain.
Luke lim replied:To answer your questions.
Jesus suffered not because He preached about sin. The pharisees and teachers of the law of those time know about sins and the Jewish laws. Naturally, those religious Jewish people are against sin except that Jesus preached about He is the Son of God who came to take away the sin of the world and He is the end of the law or rather the fulfillment of the law by those who believes in Him.
It is this that those religious Jewish people wanted to kill Jesus. The religious laws and rules that they have known is now gone? Those people can't accept it. That God is so gracious? Those people can't believe it.
Jesus suffered the most pain when He is carrying our sins on the cross and the Father have to reject Him. On the cross, Jesus cried, my God, my God why have you forsaken me. Whereas throughout His life, He has call God my Father. God has to reject Him because Jesus was carrying all our sins. This would be the most painful to Him. Don't you agree?
pinkadot replied:I am LDS (mormon) and believe that Christ suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross at Calvary. We sin. We could not pay the price for our sin. If we had no Savior, the whole earth and all of us would just be a waste because we would have no way back to the Father, no chance for eternal progression and no resurrection. Our Heavenly Father in his perfection knew this, knew for the need of a Redeemer and Christ offered to be the sinless sacrifice for sin. Because of His godhood and perfection, He was the only one who could satisfy the demands of justice and penalty for sin. He suffered in the Garden, bled from every pore because of the pain. I do not think I have even ever sweat from every pore let alone bled. We cannot imagine the pain He went through for us, not only physically but I am sure mentally as well. He suffered for all, no matter what, no matter those who would rather spit in His face than repent and come unto Him. In my opinion, that my have been the worst, knowing you were suffering for those who did not care.
Buzz s replied:It is a false Mormon doctrine no matter what you say. The last statement tells me what you don't understand about crucifixion. It is no picnic not to be able to breathe properly unless you stand up on the nail in your feet.
i reply: and yet another antimormon speaks, not of the love of the saviour in his heart but of his hatred . your judgment is incorrect. I am a man that has suffered many tortures of mind and physical pain. including having a likes of the pain in my feet. but despite broken bones and sharp objects injected into my ankles i still had to work to pay the rent. i prayed for 7 years to die! i prayed for 3 years that my enemies would die. I prayed for forgivness and i prayed in anger for 2 hrs solid.
